Art Lesson

This wifi issue here is frustrating, to say the least.   I can sometimes get connected, then lose it within minutes.  I'm trying to type fast so I can actually get this out.  My adoring fans are waiting!

Yesterday, I didn't have to go to work until 1 PM so I took advantage of the watercolor lessons available at the Art and Photography Studio here at the Old Faithful complex.  It was so much fun.  Brenda was sitting in the lounge when I was leaving, so I talked her into going with me.  Actually, it didn't take much.  She's game for just about anything.  The actual class is a Plein Air and varies on location at sites near the studio.  I did a painting of Old Faithful.  Since I can't draw at all, it was an "impressionist, symbolic view" as described by our instructor.  She liked my choice of colors.  That's the nice way of saying something positive and encouraging.  The instructor is a late 20 something who has been coming here as an instructor for 2-3 years.  Very nice and has an easy communication style.  For the folks with more skills , she spends more time.  All in all, a nice experience.  I will go back again and actually learn something, hopefully

Work is going fine.  The crew now working is getting more seasoned and need less supervision.  Not that I do any supervision.  I spend most of my time in front at the register.  Who knew that my Giant job would be my salvation from dishwashing?  We have about 5-6 international workers, mostly students.  As they get used to me, they open up and talk about themselves, their country, and that sort of thing.  Most have American nicknames-Susan, Sally, Crystal, Ronald.  The Asian students, mostly from Taiwan, say that Americans can't pronounce their names at all, so it's just easier so have a nickname.

I still can't add pictures.  I don't know why.  When I get into West Yellowstone, I'll send lots and lots.  Or you can see them when I get home.  It's just over a month.

  1. I am so happy the two have a new blog. You sound cheery happy and having an adventure. I do miss the pics but I'll bet I'll see him when you get home. Your last sentence was my favorite.
