Countdown Time
It seems that my time to come home is so rapidly approaching. Brenda actually has the days counted down, saying I should stay and work the winter here with her. No way. I tell her I can't miss our party, but she says to come back afterwards. Again, no way.
Work has been a bit frustrating recently because of crazy hours. in the not to distant past, I didn't do any closing hours, for some reason. Then our manager left and the new manager, Andrew, had to go home for a week or so and one of the upper management folks was doing the scheduling, not knowing how it had been going and therefore I started getting closing hours. The shift is actually 8-9 hours, instead of my usual 6 hours. And it is harder because I am the only cash register running from about 6 until 9. If it's not busy, I can take a break and also get some of the closing stuff done. If it's busy, which as luck has it has been very busy, I end up staying until about 10 PM. I'm not enough of a dedicated worker to really appreciate the extra time. Fortunately, Andrew is back. When I saw the newest schedule, I was scheduled to work closing for 3 of the 5 days and I didn't have the usual Friday and Saturday off. I asked him if he hates me, or did I do something wrong that I'm being punished. He laughed and said No, no, no and that someone else had done the schedule and it'll get fixed. I hope so. Rose and I and probably Steve plan to do some stuff as far as sightseeing and hiking this weekend. Last weekend I missed going into a park in Idaho featuring falls, wild flowers and just hanging out with my friends because I had Thursday and Friday, while Rose had Saturday and Sunday. Her schedule was a bit messed up, too.
We did make actual reservations for the Cowboy Cookout at Roosevelt, about a 2 hour drive from here. Roosevelt is one of the 5 or 6 areas of this place. Yellowstone is a huge park. The cookout is set at a western theme, with food, wagon rides, entertainment and the such. That is also the area where horseback riding is located. More details to follow
I went to 2 more water color painting classes. They are offered everyday at 11 AM and 2 PM, at no cost. The instructor is very nice, a 20 something named Jessie. She manages to say something positive about every project anyone is working on. Rose went with me the last time. Since I was stuck with so many closing hours, I do have the opportunity to attend the 11 AM session. It really is fun and touches my creative side. One of the guys I work with is always doodling something. I mentioned the watercolor classes to him and he is excited about going. We'll see.
I haven't taken any new pictures recently, but then again, I wasn't able to add them to the blog from here anyway. More later.
