Today, Tuesday, was my day off and Brenda and I played tourist. The weather was rather crappy-cold, rainy and snowy, so we did indoor stuff. We started at the Visitors Center, actually spending time reading all the displays and learning a lot of new things about Yellowstone. There were 2 short movies about the park and of course, the geysers visible from the center.

After we did the Visitors Center, went to the Old Faithful Inn for a tour of the place. The main part of this was built in 1902-03 and is just phenomenal. The tour guide, a woman who has been working there for 30 years or so, was just a font of information. When I add the photos, they won't add here, but near the top. i'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later. We sat at one the the many clusters of chairs and tables drinking coffee from the coffee bar and just people watching wait for the tour to begin. all in all, a nice touristy day off for a rainy, crappy day. I'm off tomorrow, Wednesday, too and plan to some something interesting. After all, this is an adventure!!

It would be nice if you had better weather. We're having 80 degree days here and lots of sunshine. We don't have a geyser. We do have this lazy river. I think I trust the Lazy River further than I trust a volcano.
ReplyDeleteRick and I have been following your adventure. Hope the weather improves and you don't get KP too much.
