Snow Lodge update

I just published yesterday's blog from the Snow Lodge (We don't have internet at out residence) so I am doing an update from that.

Yesterday (Friday) was a fun day.  We did hike over to Harlequin Lake, about 1 1/2 miles round trip.  It was a bit hillier than we were told, but not as much as Mallard Lake.  At Harlequin, the  water lilies were in bloom and they were beautiful.  I don't have the pictures yet as it takes some time to transfer from my phone.  I do have some photos from Grand Prysmatic Pool, it involve a short hike to the overlook, but it was beautiful.  We also did a drive tour to Fire Hole Falls.  There were a few stops along the way, but no real hiking paths.  There is a swimming area, but it was closed because the river is too high.  I imagine it is really cold, too.  Before I leave here, I will manage to swim in it at least once.  Blue is a lovely color to turn.
 
While I have internet, I plan to book by flight home.  Details to follow.  Although I'm having a great time here and am glad I went on this adventure, I am looking forward to coming home.  Besides the people and Ganzer, I really miss music.  I can't even get any radio here.  Wifi is too spotty, and I don't have any canned music with me. Good thing I get a newspaper.  Jim, the guy who gets it after me is also appreciative.  It's kind of funny  that we discuss different things about my home town.  He was really interested in the Selinsgrove Baseball team and was cheering them on to the State Championship.

    I haven't been to Yellowstone for 50 years! I don't remember the Grand Prysmatic place at all. Fantastic colors!

Finally, Wifi

Just regular bison photos that I can't get to the bottom of this blog.  More further down with the story that makes sense. I'm sitting in a McDonalds in West Yellowstone, Montana, because they have Wifi.  Yeah.  There is still no Wifi at the park.  it was suppose to be fixed over the weekend, but it's not.  Probably when I get back, it will be, but it is nice to get away from  Old Faithful and all the tourist, not to mention the log pine trees.  If I never see another pine tree, it will be ok because that is all I see here. Snowy Tuesday

I think that I eliminated a previous post about a Snowy Sunday-where I complained that there was snow on the ground.  Now there is another snow storm, this time leaving about 3".  It doesn't last long, but it's still here.  The temperature was in the single digits the other night. I did have a funny incident today.  Early this morning, I didn't hear my alarm, so my roomie had to wake me.  She was cool about it, actually thought it was funny.  later on in the day, I came home from work and flopped on my bed.  Patrice, my roomie, was taking a shower and an alarm started going off.  I assumed it was her alarm and when she got out of the shower, she would respond to it.  I just pulled my hearing aids and continued to lay around.  She comes out of the bathroom and tells me it is not her alarm, but a fire alarm, only a drill, but we still have to respond to it.  So much for ignoring alarms. Art, just mostly my art.

I am trying to be very funny with giving myself the artist title.  I am enjoying this new-found interest of watercolor painting.  I will never be great, but who cares?  I am and will be satisfied with my results.  So there!! lol. We are in week 5 of 6 in watercolor class.  I have learned so much between Jane, who is a wonderful instructor, more like a guiding spirit, and YouTube, that has tons and tons of information.  Knowing how I can get involved in something and leave everything else behind, I force myself to shine my kitchen sink, aka straighten up the kitchen, before I sit and watch and paint.  Not a bad life, I'll tell you. Enjoy the  refrigerator art.  Thanks....
