Home safe and sound
Here is it Sunday afternoon and I'm actually sitting gazing over the river, Using a lap top with speed, listening to the radio and texting on my phone. Most of that wasn't possible most of the time while I was in YNP. Radio only online, not through the air. The wonders of technology.
My trip home was uneventful, thankfully. Rose and Steve took me to the Bozeman airport, again, thankfully. I thought I was cried out from the night before at the party. Wrong, But that is who I am. I laugh easily, and I cry easily. Deb, her hubby Michael along with Theresa, a buddy visiting from Michigan. (I just can't get away from tourist) picked me up at Harrisburg Airport. All the way home I kept saying, Oh, my how green, Flowers in pots and in gardens and trees with leaves that don't all look alike. Also, on the way to winfield, we stopped for some real honest to goodness HOAGIES. Oh my. It is good to be home.
Than, of course, is over the moon now that I am here. It feels so comfortable here, perhaps in part because I actually have a recliner chair and my favorite pillow, along with the dog and my friends, of course. lol. Not necessarily in that order.
One of the biggest problems is the heat and humidity here. I forgot how that could be, and the local allergies are kicking in with a vengeance. Of course, a 17 hour lay over in Denver spent sitting in an odd lounge the airport information person told me about is not for the weak of body, as I found out.lol. I think I have some pictures
One of the other biggest problem is I'm missing my friends. I'll probably never see hardly any of the people again. Rose was a late find, so to speak, but the best roomies in the history of roommates. although I'm sure we will continue with a long distance relationship. Brenda was my very first friends. We were on the same bus arriving on April 18. She almost made the bus driver pull over because she had to pee. I thought to myself, "we're gonna be buddies" as luck has it, she was my suite mate, one of the four people that share the connected, communial? bathroom, and Steve and I started talking about making soup out of what ever available. (He was the chef and I was the lowly dishwasher), He is rather quite, a good listener and that's what someone like me need is little interruption once I get started. And we became friends. Brenda is stopping for a visit in early October on her way home to Florida before heading out to yellowstone for the winter. Steve hasn't decided where to go after his late October contract is fulfilled. Time will tell.
I'm going to do a final entry for this chapter very soon. I just want to think about it for a few days. Here are some funny pictures from Denver Airport. Good to be home.

ReplyDeleteYou nailed it. There will be a few folks I'll keep in touch with, but there are so many others and the lifestyle of Yellowstone living. Looking forward to seeing you and celebrating with you.
